I am writing this reference to recommend CAPP pipettes as an instrument and the service of Kelly Magin as their representative. We recently converted to CAPP pipettes and have found them to be reliable workhorses at a reasonable cost. We particularly like the ability to remove the plunger and autoclave the entire pipette without tedious dismantling as with other brands. We have found accuracy to be good and the double o-ring seal with the pipette tip is reassuring. We have also found that the pipettes are compatible with many brands of tips that may be used in the lab.

The service prior to and post-purchasing the pipettes has been of the highest standard and certainly encourages reliability in the brand and the products.

When doing radiation work I have found the CAPPAero Multi pipettes greatly increase my efficiency. The exchangeable volume controller saves me time and effort when setting up my assays and unlike other multichannel pipettes, the CAPP tip ejection lever dispenses the tips quickly and consistently.

The double O-ring seal positions the tips perfectly every time, ensuring that the precise volume is taken up for all channels. As far as I can see, the CAPP designers have solved all the issues with conventional multichannel pipettes that cause frustration. I highly recommend them.

I would be happy to provide you with feedback regarding our Capp 0.5-10μL 16-channel multi-pipettor. Several researchers in our laboratory make use of this pipettor, primarily in the preparation of 384 well microtitre plates for real-time RT-PCR analysis with the Roche LightCyler480. Here are some of the comments I have received from them:

- Use of the multi-pipettor has easily achieved its main purpose, with assays that would otherwise take several hours to prepare becoming possible to ready within an hour, and the number of pipetting actions required reduced by 10-fold or more.

- Our people are also pleased with the ergonomics of the pipettor. It is comfortable in the hand, and the pipetting motion is not difficult or tiring.
